Allison Brooks Janney is an American actress who was born on November 19 1959. Through her three decades, Allison Brooks Janney has earned acclaim as a stage actress and a film actor for her performances. Janney has won numerous awards. The most notable are the Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award and numerous others. The seven Primetime Emmy Awards were also presented to Janney. Two Tony Awards were nominated. Janney was born in Dayton, Ohio. She was born in and was raised in Boston. After graduating in Kenyon College, she received an entire scholarship to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Her first television appearance was in 1999. She played C. J. Cregg on the political show NBC's The West Wing (from 1999 through 2006). She won the role four Primetime Emmy Awards for the part. Janney was awarded her Primetime Emmy Award in 2014 for Outstanding Actresses in Drama Series. She was awarded this award due to her character Margaret Scully in Showtime's drama Masters of Sex.
